how I organise my life - uni schedule edition
organising my class schedule and extracurricular schedule
Hi!
I have a lot going on when it comes to university. I take 4 core classes (basically 4 hard classes that no one would / can take as an elective), and am involved in 3 committees that require quite a lot of commitment.
So, I developed a system to keep track of everything and make sure nothing clashes.
I use two things:
Goodnotes: overview of entire month
Google calendar: overview of day
Goodnotes Calendar
I made a “calendar” in Goodnotes so I can see all my events, tests, and deadlines at a glance, basically all the things I need to attend and submit.
The main purpose of this calendar is for me to have a quick overview of the month so I can plan my studies, extracurriculars, and social life. I need to make sure I have a rest day and not a week filled with a lot of work.
I colour code things, so blue is for studies, purple is for club #1, pink is for club #2, green is for club #3 etc.
I colour the days that are over grey so I can keep track of time left before a certain event (after starting uni I don’t really check dates so this helps a lot)
I highlight the date / number at the top to bring more attention to it when needed
Here are two examples:
Google / iPhone Calendar
My google calendar is connected to my iPhone calendar so it’s really easy for me to check my schedule.
This calendar is basically a digitalised version of my Goodnotes calendar. But with some extra things like my class schedule. It helps me plan my entire day.
This calendar has multiple functions. But mainly, it reminds me to head to class 30 mins before it starts (if I have a break between classes and I’m studying I might forget the time), and helps me plan out my to do list for the day based on my availability.
This was my schedule for the past week:

I know there are probably better ways that are all-in-one, but I like my system :)
And I think it’s good for people who like seeing the big overview of things.

That’s all for this week, have a great week ahead!

I post every Saturday. Stay tuned!
