Hi everyone! Welcome / welcome back :)
This week was full of revising, and when I wasn’t revising, I was doing a lot of random things.
Bought new running shoes (idk when it’ll arrive) cause my old pair’s sole tore off
It just came off while I was walking and I had to walk around for the rest of the day with the sole flapping as I walked hahaha
My old pair was really great though. Lasted 5 years
Watched A LOT of YouTube
I’m absolutely loving Steph Bohrer’s vlogmas videos (link to her channel)
Watched some movies
Movies (spoilers)
The Other Zoey
About:
Zoey Miller is a smart college student who believes dating should be based on compatibility. One day, Zach MacLaren, the college’s popular football player gets into a car accident and gets slight amnesia. He mistakenly thinks Zoey Miller is his girlfriend, Zoey Wallace, since they have the same first name and look similar. Zoey Miller then pretends to be Zoey Wallace in order to not upset Zach in his concussed state, fearing it’ll cause harm to him.
Review:
Zoey was the typical no nonsense, smart, ambitious girl who doesn’t believe in love, and Zach was the typical jock who’s actually super kind and smart.
The story was predictable. The girl lies to the guy, then the truth comes out and she’s ostracised, then they both realise they’ve fallen for each other, and they get together, the end.
The whole situation of how Zoey got into the mess is pretty stupid though. She could’ve at least told his family the truth instead of lying to them. Why lie to everyone when you want to get with his cousin??
But the movie was pretty enjoyable. If you go in with no expectations, and just want a simple romcom, this is great.
Rating: 3.8/5
One True Loves
I know it’s a book by Taylor Jenkins Reid but books are expensive and I couldn’t find the book in stores too (I guess it’s sold out?), so I watched the movie
About:
Emma and Jesse have the perfect life, until Jesse gets into a helicopter crash and is assumed dead in the ocean. Four years later, Emma is finally able to find happiness again. She’s engaged to her high school best friend when she gets news that Jesse has resurfaced. Now she has to choose between two great loves.
Review:
I’m very sure the book is much much muchhhhh better.
The movie was so short for the story it wanted to tell.
Jesse’s survival was barely touched on, and I find it hard to believe that someone who spent four years trapped at sea alone, would be so fine. I feel like the movie should’ve touched way more on the accident.
The way the story was set up, I knew who Emma was going to choose the minute she and Jesse set off for their trip back to the cabin. They weren’t in sync at all and their interactions were so strained.
There was also no character development at all…
Rating: 2.5/5 meh. I should’ve read the book instead
